Central Fire’s Explorer program was created to introduce interested young men and women in the community to the profession of firefighting while providing a valuable service both to the community and the District. Explorers are trained to assist on-duty firefighters on all types of emergency responses and daily station duties. Explorers are not allowed to participate in any hazardous or dangerous activities associated with fire suppression; they do provide a vital role in firefighter support at fire suppression activities. Skills learned through training alongside the District’s on-duty personnel help prepare these young men and women for a career in the fire service.

Explorer membership is open to any male or female between the ages of 15 and 18 years of age. Interested applicants should contact Volunteer Coordinator Joanna Tedder at 209-754-4330 or email mailto:mj.tedder@ccfrpd.org
