The Resident Firefighter Program is part of CCFRPD’s emergency service delivery system. The program assists people who are interested in pursuing a fire service career while providing critical volunteer staffing.
Persons interested in a career in the fire service obtain “On The Job Training” in all aspects of emergency response and daily station duties.
Residents typically are on duty for a 24 or 48 hour shift. Residents are included in the volunteer ranks of CCFRPD and receive a daily food and expense stipend. Residents in the program provide CCFRPD with critical additional staffing for emergency incidents.
Positions in the program include: Emergency Medical Services, Firefighter Support, Firefighters, Engineers, and Lieutenants.
