Structure Fire

The definition of a structure fire is:

A fire involving the structural components of various types of residential, commercial or industrial buildings.  A residential building can range from a single-family detached home to apartment complexes.  A commercial building can range from a single office building or store to large shopping malls.

CCFRPD provides year round fire protection services for the District.  Structure fires within Central Calaveras Fire’s District typically have a response that can include fire engines, water tenders, rescue units, utility vehicles, and firefighter support vehicles.

One of Central Fire’s Fire Officers works with business owners within the district to map out a pre-fire plan.  These predetermined mobilization plans prepare for fire incidents at these locations, and help firefighters determine the best plan in fighting a fire.

Trained in the latest in fire attack strategy and tactics, and equipped with the best apparatus and tools available, Central Calaveras Fire District firefighters respond to all types of fires, including structure, vehicle, trash and wildland.  The number of incidents exceeds the number of actual fires.  Many are out upon arrival, or simply good intent incidents.  Some are smoke checks for legal burning while others are false alarms.  Each one, however, requires a rapid, professional response from each member of the crew.
